Ok, so the question often comes up "what is the best lighting for plants?". I am going to try and post some information to answer that. A lot of information is already out on the web so I am not going to type up a whole lot. And also show what I have done.

Until I get some more info up I'll post some pictures of some of my light setups.

Here is a pic showing the different colors of some bulbs. From left to right: Hagen Flora-Glo T10, GE Plant & Aquarium T12, Philips Daylight Deluxe T8 6500K, and Hagen Power-Glo T10. The high speed photography brings out the colors more of the bulbs, to the eye they aren't quite as colorful. And yes the GE bulb is on, its just really dim to the eye compared to the others.

Over my planted brackish tank I have 2 compact fluorescent lights. To get the most variety of light I opted for 2 bulbs that each have 2 different colors. I have more than enough light for the plants so I though I would experiment with some colors to make the tank look better as well. There is a 50/50 actinic and 10,000K daylight along with a Coralife half 6700K and half Colormax.
